Clinical Affiliations

Students in the Radiologic Sciences traditional degree program will be given the opportunity to acquire clinical competency through various rotations for the clinical component of the Radiologic Sciences curriculum. Clinical rotations are scheduled throughout each semester to give students a well-rounded clinical experience. Students will  rotate on the UMMC campus as well as off-campus. Students should be prepared to provide their own transportation and other incidental expenses for travel to the assigned clinical affiliations.

Students may be subject to additional background checks or drug screening as required by specific clinical facilities. Students are responsible for any incurred costs relating to these requests. Professional liability insurance is provided by the school at no additional cost to the student. Any additional liability insurance policies are at the student's own discretion and cost.

Clinical rotations are scheduled during normal operating hours; no evening or weekend rotations are required for the program. Clinical rotations are from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., unless otherwise specified. During the fall and spring semesters, first year students attend clinical rotations on Tuesday and Thursday, while second year students attend clinical rotations on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Students attend clinical rotations on Monday through Thursday during the summer semester, unless otherwise specified.

Didactic coursework is delivered Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. First year students attend classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the fall and spring semesters, while second year students attend classes on Tuesday and Thursday. During the summer semester, didactic classes are scheduled on Friday of each week, unless otherwise specified.
